"Right here in your treasure box is your next memory verse!  Are you ready?"

Next verse:

Proverbs 30:5  Every word of God proves true.

Let's look it up so you can see it in the Bible. What do you think this means?" Inquired Grandma.

Melody chimmed in and said "Well, He does lots of good things for us, like keeping us safe and giving us good friends and little kittens to play with. That shows us He loves us too."

"Do you think if something bad happend to your little kittens that it would mean the Lord didn't love you any more?" Grandma asked.

"I don't know Grandma, I hope not." Melody became quiet as she thought about it.

"The last part of the verse..."His love endures forever"  answers that question. Do you know what endure means?  It means His love won't quit.  So, the Lord's love is permanent. NOTHING can keep Him from loving us. Sometimes, bad things happen in life. But those bad things do not mean God quits loving us. God's love lasts forever! It is very important to remember,  God IS love."

"Here is a fun little puzzle you can cut out and use while you are learning this verse and reviewing the other two you already know.. Have your Mom or Dad help you with it." You could glue it to a piece of cardboard or print it out on very heavy paper."

"Won't you show me your clay creations you made this week? Did you have fun making your little clay people?" Grandma "B" wanted to know.

"It was fun but it wasn't easy. Momma helped us.
"  Mikey told her.

"We made more than just one - see!" Melody exclaimed excitedly. "God must be pretty smart to be able to create people and animals that breathe, see, eat, hear and all that."

"Yes, God IS very cleaver."  Grandma examined their little "people" carefully.  "Oh, you both did a fine job! But I must admit I haven't seen many children with blue hair or skin, have you?" They all giggled.

"I like these big noses on this family."  Grandma pointed out.

"Those are mine!" Mikey boasted!

"Good job! I really like this big bow on this little girl, she is cute"

"That one is the second one I did Grandma! I am glad you like it" Melody said.

"There are many good things we can learn by working with clay.  Did you find you had to work with the clay a lot, squeeze it and roll it in your hands to make it soft enough to work with? If clay is left out on it's own, it will dry out, become stiff and hard. Then it is ruined. Sometimes, people are like that as well. God has to work with them, to make them more pliable and easier to work with."

"You know, there are several verses about the potter, the clay and who made us. Here is a good one: But now, O LORD, you are our father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we all are the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8 (American King James Version)"

"Well, kids, do you want to talk about anything you have been  wondering  about this week?"

"Grandma, yesterday afternoon when it quit raining, we saw a huge bright rainbow. I wondered if God make rainbows too?" asked Mikey.

"I am glad you asked, let's look it up in the Bible to see what it says." grandma replied.

"Genesis 9:12-15;
I do set my bow [rainbow we call it] in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant (an agreement)  between me and the earth."

"So God did place the rainbow in the clouds as a reminder of His promise that He would not destroy the area again."

"You see, about 10 generations after the time of Adam, people became very wicked - mean actually, and didn't listen to God. They rebelled against Him. They only did what they wanted to do. Only one man listened, believed and loved God. That man was Noah."

"God told Noah He regretted making man because of all the evilness that was going on. He was going to create a huge rain and flood to destroy the people and animals in the area. God gave Noah detailed instructions on how to build a huge box called an ark, in which to save his family and animals. Noah believed and obeyed God."

"Noah was around 500 years old when he started building the ark and was over 600 when he finished it. (Noah lived to be 950 years all together).  Hard to imagine living that long isn't it?  During the time he was building the ark,
Noah was considered a preacher of righteousness,  2 Peter 2:5. I believe he was called that because he was trying to get his friends and neighbors to live right and please God."

"God instructed Noah to save the clean animals of the area by bringing 7 male and 7 females of each clean animal onto the ark. He was instructed to bring only one male and one female of every unclean animal.  (Clean means it was a good animal to eat). He gave instructions to Noah to gather his 3 sons and their wives onto the ark. All the other people that were so rebellious and full of evil, were destroyed because they would not listen and obey God.

"It was nearly a year after the rain stopped and the waters went down that God made the promise never to destroy the area with a flood again. He used the rainbow as a sign that He remembers His promise and will keep it. We should remember it too every time we see a rainbow."

"Here is a coloring page for you to take home and have fun with this week. I hope you also enjoy earning your next "nugget" by memorizing this verse: "Psalms, 136:1;  Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever."

"Well kids, your Mom will have your supper ready soon, so you best head home now.  Ask your Dad if you can say this prayer as a thank you for your food  at supper tonight. See you later kids! Come see me soon", Grandma waved good bye.
Print this page and color the rain bow in this order:  red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet
